Wenger yet to move for Bridge
Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger insists the club have not yet made a move for Manchester City's out-of-favour left-back Wayne Bridge.
The Gunners have been linked with the 31-year-old former England international with Andre Santos and Kieran Gibbs sidelined.
Brazilian Santos is out of action until March while fresh surgery means Gibbs misses the next four weeks.
Wenger had admitted he is weighing up the possibility of adding a left-sided defender, but insists it would only be a short-term move.
The Frenchman has not been in touch with City over Bridge, although he is not ruling out a move for the ex-Chelsea man in the New Year.
"I haven't made any enquiry yet for Wayne Bridge or anyone else," commented Wenger.
"It is of course something we will look at but it depends on how long you have to take them.
"I have to see what is available - if I have a good opportunity then why not? They have a big impact on your wages.
"If you have to sign a player for three or four years and then you have three or four left-backs, only one can play, so they are not happy.
"It can only be a short-term solution for us because we have bought Santos, we have Gibbs, we have (Thomas) Vermaelen who can play there, so we do not need a long-term solution."
