From the editor
Welcome to the sixth and final issue of 2006, the 18th issue of SoccerCoachingInternational. It was an exciting year for SoccerCoachingInternational as we featured some of the best coaches in the world, such as Sir Alex Ferguson, Louis van Gaal. We had the World Cup issue entirely dedicated to the best national teams and a plethora of youth coaches from top clubs.
This last issue starts with an exclusive interview with Italian World Cup Champion Marcello Lippi who gives an insight into the tactical switches which helped Italy to win the World Cup. Our second top coach is Caio Junior, Head coach of Parana Clube from Brazil. He analyses his team and his system of play in yet another exclusive interview. The remainder of this issue is made up of Sören Åkeby, Head Coach Malmö FF; Lesle Gallimore, University of Washington women’s coach;Anton Janssen, NEC U19 coach; Paul Cooper’s article on Children & Football; a special feature on the first Uefa Cup game played on artificial grass and of course our new re-occuring feature: ‘Training Sessions from around the World’.
