From the editor
Rinus Michels, known in his native Holland as The General, is perhaps better known for his successes with AFC Ajax, FC Barcelona and the Dutch national team. He introduced training camps before important games and developed an interest for sport nutrition. His strategy led to unforeseen successes. Winning the national championship with AFC Ajax and FC Barcelona and the European Champion Club's Cup with AFC Ajax. His biggest success was winning the UEFA European Championship with the Dutch national team in 1988. Michels died at the age of 77. As a last tribute to Michels an article was written on our website about his vision.
This issue includes interviews with Tony Farrell, Everton FC Academy coach; Trond Sollied, Club Brugge head coach; Gertjan Verbeek, SC Heerenveen head coach; Professor Juan Mercé Cervera; Noël Sanvincente, Caracas Football Club head coach, Frans Hoek and many more. Once again a truly international issue, featuring interviews and articles from six different countries.
As you know by now SoccerCoachingInternational is more than just a magazine: It’s the complete soccer coaching experience!
