From the editor
Our fourth issue yet again features interviews with coaches from around the world. We talked to Pierre Barrieu, U.S.A. Men National Team Fitness Coach; Robert Maaskant, head coach RBC Roosendaal and Malcolm Cook.
Pierre Barrieu talks about the differences between static and dynamic stretching, in particular the sport specific part of the warm up. Robert Maaskant is seen as one of the great Dutch coaches of the future. According to Maaskant mental training is very important. Maaskant follows everything that has to do with soccer, but the mental training is his special interest. Malcolm Cook has written four best selling coaching books and holds a degree in Sports Psychology. Over a number of years Malcolm reflected on how to bring a more holistic approach to coaching. This issue once again highlights the diversity of our magazine. Webring our readers different views from all over the world on a wide range of subjects, including, sport psychology, mental training, model training programs and the differences between static and dynamic stretching.
I hope you enjoy our fourth edition of SoccerCoachingInternational, because SCI is more than just a magazine: it is the complete soccer coaching experience.
Yours in soccer,
